Education and Employment Support
Cantonese and Mandarin Classes
Language is one of the most important gateways for ethnic minorities to integrate into their local community. We offer various language teaching classes for students to help them improve their Chinese skills and academic performance. We also offer a range of different adult language classes aimed at helping adult learners enhance their Chinese proficiency and integrate better into local life.
Career Planning Workshops
Through our career-planning programme, we organise diverse talks and workshops targeted ethnic minority students in helping them set their career goals and advance to the next stage of their life. Students can benefit from university course briefings, employment seminars for school graduates and enrolment talks from mainland Chinese universities, as well as personality and aptitude test workshops, talks on developing adversity-handling skills, and goal-setting workshops.
Employment Counselling
We organise various occupational counselling activities to enable ethnic minority students to understand the real workplace and relevant skill requirements and improve their skill sets, through interactive mediums outside the classroom such as games, field visits and industry guest sharing sessions. Through these events, students can prepare themselves ahead of time and be more confident in taking their first step of achieving their dreams. Besides, they can participate in industry visits, workplace introductory workshops and industry-specific sharing sessions, as well as resume writing and interview strategy workshops, among others.
Job Fairs
Large and mid-scale job fairs are held regularly at the Centres to provide people of ethnic minority backgrounds with more employment opportunities, support and career-matching services, in order to improve the employment situation among ethnic minorities.
Work Experience and Cultural Exchange in Mainland China
Our internship programmes in the mainland allow ethnic minority students and youths to gain work and internship experience at prestigious companies in mainland China or the Greater Bay area, with their expenses paid. In addition, we organise various cultural exchange trips to the mainland where ethnic minorities students and youths can develop a deeper understanding of China through expeditions, engagements and visits to different provinces.
